Oregon Walnut

This type of Walnut is called Claro Walnut, and only grows in Oregon, Washington, and California. It is denser, heavier, and substantially more irregular than its cousin, Eastern Black Walnut. Claro has been known to capture the spirit and imagination of many a woodworker, including this one. It is very rich in color, ranging from reddish orange brown to milky chocolate to dark dark brown. It has tight but open pores that give it a leathery look no matter the color, and Claro with figure can lead one to believe in destiny...
